Eden Sponsors Belmont University Seminar

Lane Baldwin to present pair of workshops

MUNDELEIN, Illinois, August 6, 2008 – Eden Electronics, the leader in bass amplification, will sponsor a seminar at the prestigious Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Eden is an official sponsor of Belmont’s Music School Bass Department, headed by long-term Endorser Roy Vogt. The presentation will be open to all Belmont students, and will be divided into two workshops: The History of Blues and its Relevance Today, and Building a Successful Music Career.

The seminar will be presented by Eden’s Special Projects Coordinator, Lane Baldwin (also a long-term endorser) and his band Deeper Blues. “We’ve hosted Lane before,” said Vogt, “and he always gives an outstanding presentation. And Deeper Blues is an amazing band – great songs, excellent musicianship and a sound like no other. We’re very excited to host them.”

Baldwin’s work with Eden includes heading the Eden in the Schools program, through which the company encourages music education. “We believe it’s important to encourage music education in our schools,” said Baldwin of the program, “and to encourage students to consider a career in music. This is our way of giving back to the bass community.”

Deeper Blues is a mesmerizing blend of old-school tradition and modern sound that’s rapidly gaining international attention. Legendary Blues bassist Johnny B. Gayden (Albert Collins) says the band is “perfectly named.” Rick Bennick (formerly of Todd Rundgren and Mitch Ryder) calls Gary Jones his “favorite guitarist.” The band’s new release, Dig the Hole, has been praised around the world for it’s “great songs [and] great playing and singing” (Jazz icon Mark Egan). Helisnki Blues Café calls it “great stuff” and says it “gets better with each listen.”
