Lane's consulting career began in the music industry, advising artists, club owners and others in market growth and client service. He continues to serve the music retail industry to this day.

From 2004-2009 he served as Special Projects Coordinator for Eden Electronics providing all dealer training and in-store clinics and promotions. He is currently the VP, Sales & Outreach for The Learning Dock, LLC, publishers of Teach Me Bass Guitar, and VP, Sales & Relationships, for David Nordschow Amplification.
